The Metropolitan Baltimore Quadel
is a housing choice voucher program that affords low income families the opportunities to live in better neighborhoods with less crime and better schools.
Funding for this program is distributed from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, which provides a great service to landlords and property owners by offering them tenants that are already prescreened.
Currently The Special Mobility Housing Program has identified the following counties as approved areas: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Harford, Howard, Carroll, Queen Anne and some in Baltimore city.
MBQ offers several programs to assist potential tenants and landlords to ensure a smooth transition through applicant programs, voucher programs, counseling programs and homeownership programs.
There are two types of voucher programs, tenant based and project based. Voucher programs allows the family to conduct their own search for homes. Project based is tied directly to the unit. With this voucher there is a contract between the owner and MBQ. MBQ provides a listing of qualified tenants for the landlord to choose. Some of the key benefits to the project based option would be vacancy loss payments, up to a 15 year contract and possible incentive payments.
You have the option of having your property listed directly on MBQ’s website http://www.mbqadel.com/ or through a preferred vendor.
